This winter, an intensive course for JAPANESE THEATRE AND CULTURE, presented by ITI (International Theatre Institute) / UNESCO, is to be held at the Romanian Youth Center for UNESCO in Bucharest between October 25 and December 4, 2010.
The course has been organized based on the request of Prof. Corneliu Dumitriu (the chairholder of ITI / UNESCO), and as a member school of ITI / UNESCO, Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music has conducted the arrangement of instructors. The course has three (3) terms (Noh performance / Kyogen (Noh farce), Kabuki (classical Japanese dance) and Body Expressions). The professor for the Noh performance / Kyogen term will be Mr. ZENCHIKU Juro, and Mr. FUJIMA Fujisaburo for the Kabuki term. KAGAYA Sanae, from TOMOE SHIZUNE & HAKUTOBO, will be the professor for the Body Expression term.
The course, designated for students in a master class at university and actors, will include lectures and workshops for practical techniques, and on the last day of each term, students will hold a final demonstration.

BUTOH - Japan’s original modern stage art. We will provide an opportunity of experiencing TOMOE BUTOH method to learn a comprehensive creative method of Butoh.
We believe that this opportunity will contribute to the development of the techniques for creative physical expressions including Japanese dance and stage drama. In addition, you will have a chance to learn about a creative method of art including stage lighting, sound, art, costume, and makeup. |
